The Entertainment Law Institute is an annual continuing legal education course produced by TexasBarCLE and co-sponsored by the State Bar of Texas Entertainment and Sports Law Section. Co-directed by Chris Castle and Amy E. Mitchell, the ELI provides an outstanding faculty of highly-regarded practitioners and industry insiders to keep entertainment lawyers up to date on the latest emerging trends, issues and breaking developments in music, film, games, and digital media.

Entertainment Law 101: The Literary Edition November 9, 2022
Join us as we learn about the various paths to publication for writers and authors, current book publishing models, how to get your book on the big screen, and a sordid tale of a literary collaboration gone terribly wrong.

Chris Castle founded his firm in Los Angeles in 2005 and moved the firm to Austin in 2011. He works on a variety of transactional matters in the nexus of music, technology and policy. Chris is serving in his second year as director of the Entertainment Law Institute.

 

Amy E. Mitchell is a transactional lawyer based in Austin, Texas, who practices entertainment law with a focus on music, television, and film law issues. She has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 2004 and represents emerging artists and entrepreneurs as well as established professionals.
